This episode certainly has both of those from each of us. We create so many hot takes covering so many topics on these weekly variety shows that it’s nearly impossible to avoid getting ourselves fired up. So what we may lack in overall talent, we sure make up for it with loudness and certainty. You’re welcome. But we also need to express our gratitude because once again, our audience interaction segment is outstanding. Your responses & creativity this past week blew us away, and we had a blast recapping the winners of our latest SixDegreesOfMMO before setting your next challenge. Then we have fun discussing your guiltiest movie pleasures, and how dare we call them such! The episode begins per usual with What We’re Watching. This time, we branch out into a whole bunch of non-movie topics including sports, as we can’t help but chat about the NBA Finals and the league’s upcoming Free Agency. We talk UFC’s 238, which devolves into a conversation of how physically unfit we both are. Then we finally at least come around to some awards coverage as we chat about the Tony’s, and how the Oscars should learn from yesterday’s broadway broadcast. The centerpiece of the episode sprung from the box office update of all places. What is usually a short burst of industry math became quite the massive debate over Disney’s handling of X-Men: Dark Phoenix. We ask some major questions about the industry’s business practices and whether or not we should be optimistic by Disney’s rise in power & industry control. Men in Black, Ghostbusters, Black Adam, & Midsommar are some of the topics for our Do You Care section. Then we review the trailers & have a ridiculous amount of fire, both in praise of & to criticize) the trailers of Ad Astra, Luce, and Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. We were caffeinated.
