Essentially, we’re like a Oscars pod version of all three ghosts from A Christmas Carol rolled into one variety show. In our What We’re Watching segment, we review the rap battle Youtube Original movie Bodied, an intense coming of age story now on VOD in We The Animals, a depressing documentary about the excesses of modern art in HBO’s The Price of Everything, a confusing horror film in Lizzie, and then weigh in on the Globe nominated Boy Erased. Then we crown our first 3 time winner of SixDegreesOfMMO by announcing our winners to the challenge of Barry Jenkins to Larry Bird. We thought we finally stumped you all. We thought wrong. Our News of the Week segment yields a serious discussion on Kevin Hart’s removal as newly signed Oscar Host. Then we give our thoughts on who should get the opportunity. The Box Office numbers looks familiar, and our Do You Care segments hits on next week’s new releases, the DCEU and it’s future film slate, Netflix’s surprise mega-hit The Christmas Chronicles, and we end with a shout-out to a congratulations to Clayton Davis of Awards Circuit for his formation of The Latino Entertainment Journalists Association. Finally, we recap all of the recent precursor awards in our Oscar Race Update. Some of our favorite films & performances like that of Toni Collette’s in Hereditary get some much needed momentum after snubs from the Hollywood Foreign Press & the Golden Globes. We also share the AFI’s top 10 films of the year & talk about some Chicago nominees that made friends with much of FilmTwitter this past week. What do you think of the Oscar Race so far? Chat with us on social media. We’re Mike, Mike, and Oscar on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail. We are at MMandOscar on Twitter, and do send us those SixDegreesOfMMO round 8 submissions to have some fun. As always, we thank you for listening. When reality sucks, keep watching movies with us. We’re Mike, Mike, and Oscar!
