Outro / HBO TV Recommendations - 1:08:31 Here’s another mid year report about movies from MMO for all you watch at home viewers. This time, we tackle the catalog of one of our favorite premium channels, HBO. We review over 55 movies WITHOUT spoilers and cover all of the highlights from the massive catalog that is HBO on Demand & HBO Go. Help us help you plan that next movie night, and remember, it’s not TV. It may look like TV. It may be watched like TV. But it’s not TV. It’s HBO. We begin with a review of Bill Simmons’ docs Andre the Giant and Courtside at the NBA Finals. Both are must sees for sports nerds (like us). HBO showcases some of the best films from 2017, our first awards season worth of coverage, and we wax poetic about how & when we enjoy rewatching some of our previous favorites. There are several epic sci-fi properties currently on HBO & Cinemax. Will Mike 1 consider reading a book anytime in the near future? Or will he just decide to watch the long awaited Bladerunner sequel? HBO has been churning out Original content, and we review Paterno, The Zen Diaries of Gary Shandling, and The Tale all starring big hollywood names and showcasing some seriously serious dramatic arcs. Then we dive into the new slate of upcoming documentaries and HBO movie premieres. What should you be excited to watch? What should you avoid? Are you a glass half empty or full viewer when it comes to moviegoing? Then it’s time for our rapid fire review segment where we chat up all our favorite films on the rest of the HBO on Demand catalog. For more in depth reviews check out our massive catalog of episodes. We covered the 2017 movie year from the Red Carpet to the after parties, and we reviewed each of the major nominees. Our 2018 Oscar year coverage has also been cranking up of late. Tune in for our two part Mid Year Oscar Report, and we’ve also reviewed all of the early contenders released thus far in our movie event pods including The Incredibles 2, Hereditary, Deadpool 2, Avengers: Infinity War, A Quiet Place, and Black Panther. Finally, we’re one quarter into our Netflix coverage, and we’ll have the second quarter coming soon. Ant-Man & the Wasp also premieres this weekend, and we’ll have another MCU review for you all (part 9 in our overview of the Marvel Cinematic Universe). Then get ready for the impossible missions of Ethan Hunt, as we review the Tom Cruise stunt spectacles of the Mission Impossible films leading up to Fallout. Chat us up on social media. We’re Mike, Mike, and Oscar on Reddit, Instagram, Facebook, and Gmail, and we’re @MMandOscar on Twitter. When reality sucks, keep watching those movies with us. Thanks for listening.
