Praise and Power

This week we explored the seventh employee talk in a series of 12. (Lesson 6 is one of two missing talks.) Today’s talk delivered by Charles Fillmore on Wednesday, September 17, 1924, is titled “Praise and Prayer.” After an introductory piece on the Lord’s Prayer being a prayer of affirmations, Fillmore gets into the meat of the talk. The lesson is partially about how we get what we want. The most profound thing Fillmore says is, “How shall you get this larger consciousness you aspire to? By praising yourself. … Some persons think this would enlarge the ego. Well, it might if you praised the personality but if you praise yourself spiritual you enlarge your [awareness] of your spiritual Self and the little ego of personality grows less and less, disappears entirely, and you find yourself one with the universal Spirit.”   This week we also explored the terms “healing and will power” to “hearing” in The Revealing Word.
