Sometimes it makes sense to say nothing. Sometimes we need to quiet our mind and voices and just listen. We try to put words to what another might be feeling and it is impossible. It is impossible to fully understand what they are feeling, hearing, saying or living – we simply can not feel the same as they do. Even if you are empathetic, you will feel pain, anger, frustration whatever the emotion is – BUT it will be through YOUR filters and at a level of YOUR experience.

In my world of speaking to loved ones that cross over, I can feel the energy of the loss, I can feel the heart pain, and I can relate because I’ve lost loved ones - however I can NOT exactly feel, know, express exactly what another feels.

We are so unique in our emotions, our mental filters, our imprints and our coping skills that there is just NO way that we can relate. However – as humans we can try. We can pray for them, pray for the community, pray for the world, yet it doesn’t feel like it is enough. As humans, we want to take away that pain, heal that pain, elevate that soul back to love and happiness. We may feel helpless but we can still feel hopeful.

Sometimes it makes sense to say nothing and listen and ask.

Sometimes it makes sense to speak out, stand up, speak the truth of the inequalities and that it has to stop. Sometimes it requires an interruption, to step in when we see the wrongness of the situation.
