We are familiar with bathing. Many have heard of or practiced forest bathing, which has gained momentum after Japanese studies have shown forest bathing improves sleep quality, mood, ability to focus, and stress levels.

Nature therapy, sometimes referred to as ecotherapy, forest therapy, forest bathing, grounding, earthing, Shinrin-Yoku, or Sami Lok, is a practice that describes a broad group of techniques or treatments to use nature to improve mental or physical health.
There is sunbathing and snow bathing but what about star bathing? Not just star gazing but bathing. In forest bathing, you spend time in the forest connecting with nature – the tree and root systems; when we lay upon the ground and look up under the canopy of a tree, we are suspended in the energy of the earth and the branches of the tree. The tree's roots connect us to dirt and root systems below us. The root systems connect us to water sources and mineral sources. If we go deep enough, we connect with flowing rivers, crystal beds, all the critters that live beneath, or maybe the rest of sleep there, and emerge to roam mother earth during the day or sleep during the day and roam at night. We go deeper, and we can connect with the lava systems.

Star bathing is gazing at stars and bathing in their energy. Stars are always there, but we see them at night and see them even more apparent when we move away from the glow of city light pollution and being under the stars. It’s the 5-billion-star review if you’ve ever had the opportunity to sleep outside under the stars. I’ve slept out in open space - Northern Minnesota, the deserts of Arizona, or the mountain tops of Peru – anywhere you don’t have light pollution will give you a different view of the sky.
For thousands of years, people have watched the stars and planets. The movement of the milky way and the cycles of the moon. Looking up for answers or direction – guidance. We’ve been drawn to the patterns in the skies, where there are 200 billion trillion stars, and of course, the sun is the biggest that we know of to date. They have supported our ancestors and us for lifetimes.
