The need for surgical subspecialist exists in the third world. So, why is it that many surgeons think that mission work is only done by primary care teams? Why are students afraid to enter a surgical subspecialty if they also have a passion for missions? This session is geared towards students who have a passion for both a surgery subspecialty and mission work. It will also target practicing surgeons searching for opportunities to serve. Many models of service will be presented to show how practicing surgeons are using their skills and also teaching their skills to others abroad. The session will wrap up with a question and answer session with a panel of surgeons sharing their experiences.
