Newtown Planning Commission Recommends That Supervisors Deny Wawas Plan

b'At its April 5, 2022, public meeting, the Newtown Planning Commission (NTPC) failed to achieve a consensus to recommend that the Board of Supervisors (BOS) approve the latest Provco/Wawa Land Development Plan. \\n\\nThis plan calls for building a Wawa \\u201cSuperstore\\u201d \\u2013 12 pump gas station plus convenience store \\u2013 at the intersection of the Newtown Bypass and Lower Silverlake Road. This project has a long history going back to at least 2018. \\n\\nThis was not the first time Wawa representatives were interviewed by the NTPC. At its April 21, 2021, Zoom meeting, the NTPC discussed Provco\\u2019s Zoning Hearing Board \\u201cSpecial Exception\\u201d application that included requests for several variances of the E-30 ordinance: https://bit.ly/3ydEb4C <%22> \\n\\nThe vote at this meeting was three in favor (Shelley Howland \\u2013 first speaker, Warren Dallas \\u2013 third speaker, and Mary Donaldson \\u2013 fifth speaker) and three opposed (Terry Christensen \\u2013 second speaker, Craig Deutsch \\u2013 fourth speaker, and Peggy Driscoll, last speaker).'
