A Chat with Reem AlAttal: Prints by Reem

Published: March 5, 2019, 5 a.m.

In this episode, I talk to Reem AlAttal, a young Kuwaiti entrepreneur who designs various stationery items and home accessories that highlight both Kuwait and the Arabic language.

Reem always knew that she wanted to be involved in creating something but wasn't sure exactly what to focus on. She started exploring this creative drive from a very young age, starting with making friendship bracelets in school and moving on to other types of accessories. Over the years she learned various skills: drawing, painting, embroidery, and even movie-making and photography.

Although she is a Civil Engineer by profession, she knew she wanted to still feed her creative passion, which led her to start Prints by Reem in 2013. Her products have evolved over time, going from hand-painted prints to painted stationery and now to mass produced pieces. Her business continues to grow as does she in her exploration of new artistic designs and products.
