Why Pray?

Mark 14:32-42 We are blessed to have Allison Otwell, whose beauty and intelligence are matched only by the unbiased objectivity with which her husband writes podcast descriptions, bring the sermon this week in the beautiful Coker Arboretum. We're tackling one of the more difficult questions we find ourselves asking about our relationship to God: Why do we pray when the outcome often doesn't change. Even Jesus, praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, prayed for a lessening of his suffering that didn't come. Yet the power and benefit of prayer is evident in Scripture and in our lives, and today we'll investigate how.
