When there is pain and hunger and uncertainty in the world, contentment is probably the last thing you would think to find. In fact, Paul understands that even when all is going well it is something that can never truly be found by the things of the earth. Whether incarcerated by the Romans or at the height of his power as a pharisee, Paul knew that when he surrendered everything he was to Jesus that he had found the well of everlasting water and would not thirst again.
