Matthew --- Matthew 22:34-40 Once again, Jesus is bated into controversy. Imagine a public figure being asked leading questions in an attempt to discredit their values and alienate their followers. Shocking, right? But Jesus handles the question of the most important commandment in a deceptively simple way: Love the Lord with all your heart is the most important followed by loving your neighbor as yourself. In this way, he actually sums up not only the Commandments, but much of what the rest of Scripture is about. We are made in God's image. And as God's image we are to love our Creator and those who have been created. It includes the outsider. It includes the planet. It even includes yourself.
