Narrow Way

The Future of Love --- Matthew 7:13-29 This week we conclude our series on the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus ends his world-changing message with a series of images. A narrow path and gate feature prominently here. Why would Jesus use this terminology? After all, if he had come to die for the whole world, why does this sound limiting? Because it is. The entire sermon is about turning how society works on its head and how much you will sacrifice to follow Jesus. It is a difficult and narrow road. But it stretches to the ends of the earth, and there is room enough on the path for all to travel it. This is because of the boundless Grace of the God made Flesh, who spoke on that day with more authority than the authorities.
