Exodus 1:6-22 Last week, we were reminded that Exodus is a continuation of the history begun in Genesis. The Hebrew people arrived and multiplied in Egypt after Joseph saved the region from a 7-year famine. But now a new pharaoh with a short memory has come to power, and the Israelites look more like threats than saviors. This continued introduction to the book enforces that when the Israelites found themselves under the oppression of slavery and genocide, God remains faithful to them...even before a baby named Moses is placed in a basket.
