Matthew 23:24-25 Jesus compares the scribes and pharisees to a dirty cup; one that may have a shiny outside but is still corrupted on the inside. Anything that comes out of it is also dirty, no matter its outward appearance. It's a scathing rebuke, and our own Maggie Mraz makes sure we know that it is also a call for confession. Hypocrisy has been a constant companion of the church. Christ confronts us with our own sink of dirty dishes.
