The Wonder Years: S4E20: The Accident
Happy Friday Wonderlings, I'm Angela Bowen, the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Get ready and grab those tissues, cause the tears are gonna fall. We all know how this episode ends. S4E20: The Accident which aired on April 24, 1991. In this episode after breaking up two months ago, Kevin sees Winnie for the first time. However, it becomes obvious to him that she has changed and is no longer the same girl that he knew growing up. When he sees that she is now hanging around with 11th graders in cars, he worries that he is nothing more than a piece of her past. I shed some tears and get choked up at the end. This episode for me took a dark turn as I contemplated about what could have happened if they had been no accident. Three guys roughly around the age of 17-18 and one 14 year old girl in a car, no other girls there, just going for a drive. This could easily have turned into a rape episode. I’m sorry, I went there. I'm just happy this show never took that dark turn.
