Hey there Wonderlings, I hope you’re having a weekend! I’m Angela Bowen the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Today I’ll be reviewing S3E13: She, My Friend and I which aired on February 6, 1990. In this episode Paul and his girlfriend Carla have a falling out. Wanting to make his friend feel better, Kevin offers to set Paul up with Winnie. At first Kevin is happy about the idea, but after awhile, he begins to wonder if he's made a mistake. Time for my Flower Power Episode Rating I’m giving this episode 3 out of 5 Flower Power Petals 1. For Kevin cheering up Paul by having Winnie go out on what I believe is a pity date with Paul. 2. I loved the boys scrapping it up during wrestling. It was fun to watch them get their aggressions out since they clearly couldn’t talk it out. 3. Kevin going up to Winnie at the end of the episode and confessing his awareness of her interest in him. I knocked two flower power petals off this episode. 1. Poor Paul got dumped twice in the span of a school week once by Carla and then Winnie. Although maybe Winnie needed to go out with Paul to affirm her true feelings for Kevin. 2. Two out of the five Arnold family members were not seen in this episode Norma and Karen, Jack and Wayne were also only in one scene in the whole episode. My Wonderling Words Of Wisdom: Please don’t do what Kevin did and set your friend up on a pity date with another friend. In fact don’t do what Kevin did at all in this episode if your friend gets dumped don’t suggest they date someone else to move on and make their ex jealous. Kevin was already on Paul to find someone new hours after Carla dumped him. Let him heal and lick his wounds first, Kev. Here’s my quote of the episode: Narrator: I'd never felt so lost in my life. I tried to make sense of what had happened. I wanted to believe Paul had lied to me. Winnie, too. But somehow, I knew better. I'd been lying to myself. The funny thing is, now that I was sure about my feelings for Winnie... There they were: my best friend and my best girl. I'd brought them together. And now I had no right to interfere. Join me tomorrow when I review S3E15: The Tree House which aired on February 20, 1990. In this episode Kevin and his Dad decide to build a tree house in the backyard. However, their father/son bonding is soon derailed when their work gives them a birds-eye view of an attractive female neighbor.
