Happy Hump Day Wonderlings, I'm Angela Bowen, the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Welcome to the first Wonder Years Flashback Edition Episode with S2E7: Coda, which aired on February 8, 1989. Kevin has set the bar too high, like piano prodigy Ronald Hirschmuller level high for performing piano, which in turn clouds his doubt of his ability to play well, even though he gets praise from his piano teacher that he has real talent and will go for if he just applies himself and practices more. The line "I'll never be as good as Ronald Hirshmueller" gets repeated by Kevin ad nauseum in this episode as he tries to live up to unsurmountable expectations that he sets for himself. In this episode Kevin feels that his piano lessons with Mrs. Carples aren't doing him any good. While most people are quick to commend Mrs. Carples' student Ronald Hirschmuller, Mrs Carples still feels that Kevin has got musical potential, if he'd just apply himself more to practicing.
