Ricky’s learning to play the bassoon and Derek gives him crap for it, calling him a wimp, but as always quickly quickly changes his tune when Edward comes in to commend Ricky for taking up the instrument even though it sounds like someone choking a duck. Derek is the guy, who will put you down but be an angel to your father. In this episode Ricky saves his grandfather from embarrassment when his dad Edward refuses to speak at a banquet and present an award to his father. In this episode Ricky convinces Edward to cancel his skiing trip and take him camping so that he can advance to the next level in scouting. In this episode Based on Derek's advice and a misunderstood conversation, Ricky is convinced Kate has fallen in love with him.
