Kevin spends some time exploring greener pastures and gets a new lease on life when he meets young Amish girl Rachel who in turn is interested in the finer things that Kevin takes for granted like electricity and TV, and drive in movies since she's in the last month of her Rumspringa. Kevin's at a crossroads in life with his SAT's coming up and after a visit to the Amish Community (we are treated to beautiful stock footage of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, even an aerial shot)Kevin's sudden change in behavior such as chopping wood, planting Rhubarb, and walking to school sends warning bells to George and Marsha and even Belvedere after Kevin refuses to take the SATs considering it a waste of time. While all this is going on poor Wesley is sick and has Belvedere waiting on him hand and foot complete with a ringing bell and a bullhorn (Thanks a lot George).
