Why Christians Are Susceptible To The Unforgiveable Sin

Christians are forgiven their sins by the death of Christ. The last thing Christians would need to worry about is Unforgiveable Sin. But then on the face of it, the idea of there being a sin that is unforgiveable, seems alien to the mercy and power of God. If God can and will forgive sin how is there a sin that is not forgivable and how could Christians be susceptible to it?
