What Must Be Done First

There is a great division in the world, though it could be illustrated in different ways the major divisions are even more fractured. If we look at what we do as being based on a dissatisfaction with the present, then all our divisions, whether large or small, are differences of what we ought to do next. The left and right are primarily disagreements over whether our next move ought to decrease or increase the role of the state. Even if this is a simplification it is only because of the many diverse ideas as to what ought to be done next within these two major groupings. But has anyone looked at what problem we are actually trying to solve? Because if we do not grasp the real nature of the problem we will be torn apart by a thousand competing voices all demanding something be done that will not move us closer to a resolution and will more likely than not, only increase the number and depths of the divisions that we already struggle with.
