The Right And The Power
The abortion debate is not about rights it is about power. The struggle is over the amount of power the woman has over her body. The law cannot give rights it can only give power. A legal right is the legal power it has nothing to do with natural rights or with natural law. But humans cannot live by the dictum of might makes right. The power to do does not give anyone the moral legitimacy to do. The question is not if the mother has the legal and physical power to end a pregnancy. The question is can moral legitimacy cover the abortionists activity? To answer this we need to understand natural law.
