Freeloading is taking things of value without any corresponding return being provided. Freeloading is a problem because is means the loss of what was owned without any corresponding benefit. We need a comprehensive response to freeloading. Piecemeal solutions do not work. It may appear to be the case that theft only impacts the individual but freeloading impacts us all and only helps the freeloader. People must be held accountable for the costs they create. No one ought to be required to lose what they formed or worked for without compensation. Without accountability we have socialism. The intrinsic feature of socialism is that it allows or even encourages, freeloading.
