The End Of Duty And The Rise Of Man
Mankind is a category that encompasses all human beings but if one group has duties to another group the concept is fractured. It is only when we eliminate duty that man as category of being, emerges. If our humanity is to have priority over incidentals, we cannot permit incidentals to divide us. My rights cannot be permitted to erode your humanity under the burden of a duty. A duty cannot supersede or devalue, a person’s humanity. What is an absolute monarch or autocrat? He is a man with rights and no duties. Who is a slave but the person with duties and no rights.
