The Godfather

That's right, this week we are covering The Godfather, which won Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role for Marlon Brando, and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium at the Oscars. I am taking a Francis Ford Coppola class for school and when I got to this film I felt like this was one that needed to be covered. Coppola co-wrote the screenplay with Mario Puzo, who is the author of the book. Such an amazing cast including Al Pacino, James Caan, and Diane Keaton to name a few, and the story behind this film is incredible to read about, like Coppola was like the 15th director to be asked to do the film and only said yes when George Lucas told him he should because of the money, and look what it did to his career.
