Outlander: The Wedding (S1E7)

Published: May 12, 2020, 2 p.m.

On this episode of Line Drunk, I am joined by my friend April and we discuss The Wedding episode of Outlander. So grab a glass of wine, a beer, or a cocktail and enjoy as we discuss this show.

This is not a series I have ever watched before, but I know a lot of people are fans. Outlander is on STARZ and also available to watch on Netflix. The series is about an English combat nurse, Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe, Ford v Ferrari, Money Monster), from 1945, who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743. It also stars Sam Heughan (Young Alexander the Great, The Spy Who Dumped Me), and Duncan Lacroix (Vikings, Outlaw King).

For those of you who haven't watched the series, this is not for children, the sex & nudity (according to IMDb) is severe, as well as is the violence and gore, with profanity being moderate. Figured some of you might appreciate knowing this in advance.

The Outlander Drinking Game (From Buzzfeed):

1. Take one drink when:

  • Someone wearing a kilt jumps off of a horse
  • Anyone says "whore" but it sounds like "Hoooooooore"
  • Claire wears some cool knitwear
  • Claire rolls her eyes at 18th century medicine
  • One of the Scots reluctantly agrees that Claire is right about something
  • Claire solves a problem with a plant
  • Dougal tries to hate-flirt with Claire
  • Claire gets in trouble for doing something nice
  • Claire tries to give the Scots advice without letting them know that she is ~from the future~
  • We check in with sad Frank back in the 20th century
  • Claire says anything that makes the Scots CRAZY suspicious about her
  • Claire gets mad about something not being fair
  • You or any of your friends say "huh?" after one of the Scotsmen speak

2. Take two drinks when:

  • Jamie takes off his shirt
  • Claire takes part in any ~romantic~ doctoring situations with Jamie
  • Black Jack seems like he's trying to do something nice, but it ends up being totally evil
  • You and your friends decide to turn on the English subtitles
  • Someone says "Craigh na Dun" (Anyone who CAN'T spell it must drink, anyone who CAN is safe)

3. Finish your drink:

  • When Claire tells Jamie the truth about where she comes from
  • When you actually think sex might happen AND IT ACTUALLY HAPPENS
  • When Dougal smiles
