Home Before Dark is a great family show available on Apple TV+, I discovered it this summer and quickly binged it and got caught up on the series. The show centers around Hilde Lisko, who is a journalist like her father, as the family moves to a lakeside town where her father once lived; while there, she unearths a cold case that everyone, including her father, tried to bury. It's inspired by real life American journalist Hilde Lysiak, who founded and publishes the Orange Street News. She is the youngest member of the Society of Professional Journalists, as well as a book series called Hilde Cracks the Case. 

I can't recommend this series enough. If you have Apple TV+ watch it, if you don't, then get the free trial and binge it. You go along with Hilde, her friends and family to help solve mysteries and it leaves you wanting more. Season one deals with a murder and a boy, who was a friend of her dad's, that went missing when her father was a young boy. The cast is amazing and you will recognize some people from other things. If that doesn't grab your attention, you will also enjoy the music. Nathan Lanier does a phenomenal job!!! I promise, you will enjoy the show that was created by Dana Fox and Dara Resnik. I can't wait to see what happens in season 3!!!

The Journalist (diffordsguide.com):

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 oz Rutte Dry Gin
• 1/2 oz Noilly Prat Extra Dry
• 1/2 oz Martini Rosso Sweet Vermouth
• 1/4 oz Orange Curaçao Liqueur
• 1/4 oz Lemon Juice Freshly Squeezed
• 1 Dash of Angostura Aromatic Bitters
• 1/12 oz of Sugar Syrup (Rich) 2 Sugar to 1 Water (Optional)

Directions

1. Shake all ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker.
2. Fine strain into chilled glass.

• Animation is used.
• Hilde is typing up an article.
• You recognize a song being played.
• Someone gets arrested.

Take a shot when...

• A minor gives a powerful speech.
