Making Science Cool: Girl Genius STEM Conference

Women are largely underrepresented in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), comprising only 25 percent of the workforce in those fields. The Girl Scouts of Central Texas and Texas State Technical College are trying to change that figure. At the first ever Girl Genius STEM Conference held in Waco, they teamed up to offer a day of hands-on workshops to make STEM more accessible to girls and breakdown stereotypes that might prevent them from trying out these fields.
