On this episode of Kickin' & Streamin' Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn discuss the Amazon original movie 'Sound of Metal' starring Golden Globes nominated British actor Riz Ahmed, along with Olivia Cooke, and Paul Raci. Graham began by marveling at the fact that the film, which is about the story of a musician, has very little to do with music, or noise, but rather the profound impact of sudden silence. Jocelyn reflects upon Riz Ahmed's portrayal of the character of Ruben as he navigates his new condition of sudden deafness and finding a community of support as a recovering addict.\\xa0 Jocelyn & Graham also discuss the fine lines that exists when an able-bodied actor or performer portrays a character with disability and Hollywood's tendency to wanting to "fix" the character's disability, but in this movie, we learn that not all disabled people see themselves as something or someone who needs "fixing."\\xa0This and all of our podcast episodes will be available to watch on our YouTube channel on Fridays at noon. please don't forget to subscribe for future episodes.
