Kartick Satyanarayan, with his passion for wildlife, took it upon himself to abolish the 400-yr old custom of Bear Dancing. This form of entertainment which originated to amuse the rich persisted through centuries. Satyanarayan's efforts led to a global alliance of conservationists to not only rehabilitate the bears but also deal with the social outcomes of trying to get an entire community to give up the only thing they had done since the time of the Mughal Empire.
