This movie begins with its main character having much pride and arrogance around his role as a sous chef in a high quality kitchen. He is not accepting his function and desires to be the head chef.
After he quits his job Spirit gives him lessons in humility as he is sent back to work at his family's humble restaurant.
Here Spirit works with him in undoing his pride . He receives much help along the way from two mighty companions:- a cab driver/cook and also a girlfriend.
Gradually Spirit removes his friend the cook from his life and so the opportunity arises for him to step into his function. And as he learns to embrace this he discovers true inspiration and the reason he wanted to be a chef all along.
