Blaize joins Jason to kick off a new series for Movienauts, this time looking at the films directed by the great Paul Schrader. Schrader is one of the most interesting directors ever to get behind a camera, and Blue Collar is one of the finest debut films of all time. It's a gritty, smart look at the lives of three auto workers at the end of the 1970s and has some piercingly great moments the guys discuss. Hardcore seems a little more from the heart for Schrader, a semi-autobiographical piece about a conservative, religious man whose daughter is seduced into the world of pornography, and the way the dad's investigation changes him.
