Episode 34: Sharon Miller

Published: Aug. 20, 2019, 10 a.m.

My name is Sharon Hodde (sounds like “Hah-dee”) Miller, and here’s a little bit about me:

My husband, Ike, and I both lead Bright City Church in Durham, NC. Our church launched in September 2018, and it has been a wild, fun, and stretching adventure. We LOVE our church, and if you live in the RDU area or are passing through, come say hello!

Ike and I are the parents to three awesome kids who fill our house with noise and joy. Isaac (6), Coen (4), and Sadie (1) are seriously the best and we don’t know how we got so lucky to be their mom and dad.

In addition to leading Bright City, I also write and travel around the country speaking. My first book, Free of Me: Why Life is Better When It’s Not about You released in 2017, and my next book, Nice: Why We Love to Be Liked and How God Calls Us to More, releases in August 2019!

I recently completed my PhD at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School on the topic of women and calling, and I am SERIOUSLY passionate about cultivating the gifts of women (don’t get me started! ha!). I have also been a regular contributing author to PropelShe Reads Truth, and Christianity Today, and my writing has been featured in Relevant(in)courageGifted for Leadership, and The Gospel Project blog.

And most importantly, I am a Christian, and if you want to know more about what that means, click here.
