Island Conversations--#17--Bonus: Mauna Loa Volcano Upgrade

On Tuesday, July 2, Hawaiian Volcano Observatory raised the alert level for Mauna Loa from the lowest, Normal, green, typical background noneruptive state (where it's been for around a year) to Advisory, yellow, "volcano is exhibiting signs of elevated unrest above known background level."  We spoke with Tina Neal, Scientist-in-Charge at HVO, who stressed an eruption is not imminent, but there have been more earthquakes and some sign of magma in the summit.  In this bonus Island Conversations interview, Ms. Neal spoke with Island Conversations host Sherry Bracken and explained.
