In this special episode, Church of England vicar Jamie Franklin reproduces a talk given recently at an event in Cambridge on "The Ideological Challenge of Science".\\xa0
In this talk I argue that Western culture is permeated by a naturalistic and mechanistic way of experiencing the world, that this worldview is based on a number of unprovable assumptions and is at base superstitious, that there is an inevitable and disastrous connection between this worldview and our ethical practices, that the Church was complicit in this outlook in its response to Covid-19 and that, in order to restore the Church to faithfulness, we need to find our way back to a supernatural expression of Christian belief and practice.
