An update of ATSC Standards, the SMPTE BXF Standard and the DTV Performance Measurement Standard. BXF (Broadcast eXchange Format) is currently one of the higher visibility projects within SMPTE. It holds the promise of standardizing communications among Automation, Traffic, and Content Distribution as its foundation. Beyond that, however, is the ability to dynamically link these systems (in terms of schedule and content metadata and movement). We will discuss the current state of BXF both within SMPTE as well as in the industry, and will look forward to the impacts it will have on broadcasters going forward.
