Merging Newsrooms, Managing Drama

With the call to serve audiences with the kinds of content they want in the format they want coming from the top executives of most media companies, the reporters, editors and producers of content are struggling to find the workflows that continue to produce the kind of news and content they are known for as well as substantial original online material. This has prompted widespread efforts to merge online and on-air news gathering operations and has tested managers on both sides of this new kind of digital divide. I don't particularly have the answers to these questions, but talking about them, exploring solutions and a little group therapy couldn't hurt.
