ICFRC: US India Relations

Manpreet Singh Anand has worked on international policy and development issues with a number of organizations, largely focused on U.S. diplomatic relations with South Asia. Mr. Anand served as a Senior Policy Advisor for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs (HCFA), covering South Asia, Central Asia, and energy and trade policy issues. In this capacity, Mr. Anand advised the HCFA Chairman and other Members of Congress on various pieces of legislation and issues of oversight, including the U.S.-India Civil Nuclear Cooperation Agreement, U.S.-Pakistan relations through periods of political turmoil, and our diplomatic and development efforts in Afghanistan. Mr. Anand also served in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative dealing with bilateral trade issues in South Asia and with the U.S. Agency for International Development, building public and private sector partnership initiatives towards development programs. Mr. Anand's private sector experience includes work as a consulting manager in the supply chain execution industry. He currently serves as a Senior Policy Advisor with Chevron, providing policy analysis and guidance on emerging geopolitical and socioeconomic issues. Mr. Anand is a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a Member of the Pacific Council on International Policy. Mr. Anand also serves as a Trustee on the Board of the World Affairs Council of Northern California and a Board Member on the Haas School of Business, Center for Responsible Business Alumni Advisory Board. Mr. Anand earned an MBA and an MA in International Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
