Dr. Mansoor Khan's current position is Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at Indus Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan. The institution's motto is 'Quality care, free of cost'. Dr. Khan will be presenting the problems of working in a country like Pakistan, which is facing enormous problems, while trying to provide free, quality healthcare to the poorest segments of the population. The humble beginnings of The Indus Hospital can be traced back to the year 2005, when a group of dedicated doctors, philanthropists and businessmen came forward and pledged support for the disadvantaged communities in Karachi by establishing a state-of-the-art, free hospital. Fuelled by a passion to serve people unable to afford health-care facilities, their determination planted the seeds of a vision that culminated in the creation of a 150 bedded tertiary care center in July 2007 with the philanthropic support of The Ruffaydah Foundation and The Islamic Mission Hospital Trust. Spread over 21 acres of land and located in the densely populated Korangi area, today the Indus Hospital is a symbol of hope for the most vulnerable members of our society. The only initiative of its kind in Pakistan, the Indus Hospital provides premium health care in an impressive, state-of-the-art health center completely free to everyone.
