'Haiti's Other Epidemic: Violence Against Women and Girls' is a documentary by Dan Alder. The film follows the efforts of human rights attorney Jayne Fleming as she tries to aid individuals who were raped in and around displacement camps set up in response to the January 2010 earthquake. On one level, Mr. Alder hopes the documentary will help to refocus much needed attention on Haiti's continuing struggle to deal with the catastrophe. He also sees the film as a tool for advocating better protection and a more decisive response to gender-based violence in Haiti's internationally managed camps, and by extension, in emergency responses around the world.
