The Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes those who exemplify commitment to education during the 2016 Excellence in Education Awards at the Iowa City Community School District office in Iowa City.

Award recipients were honored in seven categories: student, student team or group, teacher, volunteer, administrative or support staff, science and technology, and partnership (businesses or community groups that partner with education to share time and talent). A volunteer panel reviewed all award nominees and selected recipients who best demonstrated a commitment to our area K-12 schools. Recipients vary from volunteers, educators, students, businesses and organizations.
