In this livecast from the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in San Francisco Bryce Olson, Director of Marketing for the Health and Life Sciences Group at Intel stops by to discuss the IDF announcement of a precision medicine analytics platform called the Collaborative Cancer Cloud that allows institutions to share patient genomic data for potentially lifesaving discoveries. He emphasizes how this platform will empower researchers and doctors to help patients receive a diagnosis based on their individual genome and proceed to a targeted treatment plan. Bryce describes how it is the Collaborative Cancer Cloud goal to enable this genomic mapping and diagnosis to happen within a matter of 24 hours by the year 2020. He outlines how precision medicine has personally helped him in his battle against cancer and hopes that the work Intel is doing to drive targeted precision medicine will enable researchers and doctors to help more people across the world.
