Chris Smerald is the Director of Emerald Lake Consulting, helping firms resolve their complex or greenfield business and actuarial problems. He is also an Associate of OAC PLC providing traditional Senior Actuary consulting services. Previously he worked at AIG for a third of a century in various senior reserving, pricing, chief actuary and risk analytics roles, often doing pioneering work.

Chris is an active member of the UK Values Alliance, a charities collective working to put values at the heart of UK society. He is an advocate for social change through curiosity, listening and personal leadership.
