Episode 19 - A chat with Metui Tongatua

In this week’s episode, Geoff is talking to Metui who was a Winner in the 2019 Northern Territory Young Achiever Awards. Metui Tongatua is promoting the regional community through active student participation in sporting events. Metui has a double Degree in Teaching and Applied Science and is a health and physical education teacher in North-East Arnhem Land. He has secured over $300,000 worth of funding from agencies such as the Indigenous Marathon Foundation, Athletics Australia, and East-Arnhem Regional Council. Metui has also taken coaching and umpiring courses in various sports preferred by the communities he work with. Metui was adopted by Burarrwanga family from Galinwin’ku.
