Scilence 18 - Software Engineering & FATHERHOOD MATTERS

Published: Oct. 23, 2018, 6:14 a.m.

This week on Scilence, my guest is an example of a lack of parental support, she explains how it shaped the course of her career and developed her amibition in software engineering.  She bravely raises the issue of women keeping women out of STEM and explains her belief, that women are taught to serve rather than deserve.  As the conversation strolls through the issues of self-belief, self-confidence, and assertiveness, and the dangers of seeking validation from others; my guest never fails to ask herself 'why not', when held back by fear.  After arriving at her dream job, through a multiude of coloured Post-It notes, she finally feels at ease, or is it that she has less to prove to others?
