b'Australian-born Ricky Megee lived a life that could be described as anything but dull prior to his disappearance at the age of 35 in 2006. Born in 1971 in Victoria, Ricky would see a lot of moving throughout Australia as a kid and well into his adulthood. About 350 miles West of where he was born, his parents had a dairy farm in the town of Gippsland. This is where he would spend the first five years of life, which he would describe as living in his father’s shadow, taking in all the farmwork he would partake in daily, from milking cows to hunting rabbits. He loved everything about it, and had a great admiration for his dad. Along with his parents, Ricky had three sisters. Not yet in grade school, Ricky’s parents made the decision to leave farm life behind and move to the Melbourne suburb of Sunshine. Despite the town’s name, Ricky’s father Peter’s outlook was not one of optimism. He now worked for a gas company, and not knowing anyone in the region, he started spending more and more time in the pub drinking heavily in an attempt to socialize. Ricky’s mother Wendy confronted him about it, but the short but feisty man of Irish heritage had a bad temper at times, and it led to a lot of heated arguments in the Megee household.

Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/in-the-wild/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Learn more about your ad choices.
