During the Cold War, the Canadian government had to contend with the possibility of Soviet spies.  In an attempt to negate all liabilities, however, they implemented extremely discriminatory practices against the LGBT population.  What followed was an era of fear, government surveillance, and very... questionable science.

How far was the Canadian government willing to go?  What practices did they implement? And is it really possible to build a working gay-dar?
