A more general IELTS exam is taken by job candidates who want to work in English-speaking countries.\\xa0The two versions are very similar \\u2013 the only difference is that the academic test has more difficult reading and writing sections.\\n\\xa0\\nIELTS is completed with pencil and paper, and by speaking with a real person.\\xa0This is very different from something like TOEFL, which is computerized. However, the IELTS does have very specific rules.\\xa0This means that knowing what to expect can help you get a better score.\\n\\xa0\\nIf you\\u2019re at intermediate level and you\\u2019re planning to take the exam, you should begin preparing for it least 3-6 months ahead.
