Wellll, welll, well. Carolina Cast Listeners, Tonight we have some news to dive into pertaining to the offseason of our favorite Carolina Sports Teams. To start, we have an update on the Miles Bridges situation. Quick disclaimer, this situation may be triggering or difficult to hear. It relates to both domestic violence and abuse involving children. Bridges had his first court date 2 days ago on July 20th. His bond is $130,000 and, his situation looks much more bleak than it did before. The day before his court date the LA DA released a statement about holding Bridges accountable as well as charging him officially with 3 felonies. One felony is for the harm he caused his wife and the other two are for the child abuse that occurred. Bridges could serve up to 11 years and 8 months in prison if convicted and he plead not guilty. His next court date is in August, just a month before the preseason starts for the Hornets. It’s pretty unlikely he will see the court at all this season. Onto greener pastures, the Panthers have training camp coming up this week! It will be our first look at our new guys and how the team’s going to mesh together. Personally, I look forward to seeing some position battles—having some guys really prove their worth on the field. That start next Wednesday so I will have more information to share about that next show! Finally, the Hornets have Media Day coming up as well. This is going to be interesting to see what the players say and how they react to questions. Will reporters ask players about Bridges? Will Hornets PR have anything to say?
